Review of Part II: Exploring Relationships Between Variables
Following Chapter 10 is a "Quick Review" of the material covered in Part II (Chapters 7–10) of the textbook. This is a nice overview of some of the "big ideas" we've encountered so far. You may want to look at this now, and then again when reviewing for the next midterm.
Next you'll find 43 exercises covering various topics from the first ten chapters. These often combine material from more than one chapter, which you may find especially valuable when reviewing for the first midterm, as questions on the exam may do this as well.
Homework
No particular exercises are assigned from this review section. You may choose to work some now, and more later as you prepare for the next midterm.
Errata
The graphic accompanying exercise #7 is not the correct scatterplot (the book shows the scatterplot from #17 instead); for the correct scatterplot, see exercise #19 of Chapter 27 (on page 600), which uses the same data set.Part b of exercise #11 should read: What percent of the variation in average speed is explained by the variation in traffic density?
ActivStats
